Stockton is the county seat of San Joaquin County in the Central Valley of the California. It was founded by Captain Charles Maria Weber in 1849 and is named after Robert F. Stockton. Stockton was the first California community not to have a name that was not of Spanish or Native American origin. Stockton had an estimated population of 315,592 as of 2016, making it the 13th largest city in California and the 63rd largest city in the United States. Stockton was named an All-America City in 1999, 2004, 2015 and again in 2017.

Stockton's seaport was built during the California Gold Rush and serves as a gateway to the Central Valley and beyond. It provided easy access to trade and transportation to and from gold mines of California.

When it comes to education goes we have two higher education schools. First, the University of the Pacific (UOP), which was chartered in 1851, And is the oldest university in California and has been located here in Stockton since 1923. It has one of the most beautiful campuses in California as far as I'm concerned. Second, we have Delta College, a two-year community college. Then we have three school districts, SUSD, Stockton Unified School District, LUSD, Lincoln Unified School District, and LodiUSD, Lodi Unified School District.

With lots of outdoor recreation, from a large number of golf courses, parks, the San Joaquin Delta waterways, the Sierra mountains are a short drive away to the east, and the beaches of California to the west. There is something here or nearby for everyone.
